'Jerry M', the engine on the left, was built by Hunslet of Leeds in 1895 and worked in the Dinorwic slate quarry near Llanberis. 'Palmerston', on the right, was built by George England in 1863/1864 and modified to her present appearance in 1880. The two engines sit side by side in the main, and only, station on the Quarry Railway.
