Upon arrival at Bishops Lydeard, Class 47 No. D1661 'North Star' was attached as a pilot. Presumably, then, the crew of the 67 hadn't driven the route of the West Somerset Railway before.

The Class 67, No. 67006 'Royal Sovereign', is one of three Class 67's charged with hauling the Royal Train.

There had been an event on the previous weekend, so GWR King 4-6-0 No. 6024 'King Edward 1st' was to be seen receiving attention outside Williton shed. A bit of a hark back to a few years ago found us doing a similar railtour with this loco from Reading to Minehead!

Walking down the platform at Minehead brought us this first view of 'Tornado'.

To meet with current regulations, and inkeeping with the overall look of Tornado, these lamps incorporating ultra bright LED's have been fitted on top of the electric Stones lighting.
